When researching what I wanted to do in Sri Lanka I stumbled across Adam’s Peak- it is a pilgrimage consisting of 5,200 steps to the top of the mountain. I immediately rearranged my whole itinerary so that I could participate in this pilgrimage. Okay- so it wasn’t much of a pilgrimage for my friend and I as we both cursed and moaned our way up.
Anytime I can check off the World’s best, highest, oldest anything I am interested. While living in Salzburg, I heard about the world’s largest ice cave and I couldn’t wait to check it out.
When I signed up to go black water rafting on the North Island of New Zealand I honestly had no idea what to expect. Like you- I thought that it would be similar to white water rafting but maybe more intense? I soon found out that this adventure activity unlike anything that I had anticipated- in fact, there was no rafting whatsoever.
On the plane I looked out the window as I watched the ground get farther and farther away. I was sitting there entranced with the scenery and fascinated by how high we kept getting. I was going to fall all the way down to the ground.
Right outside of Queenstown is the first ever official commercial bungy site at Kawarau Bridge Bungy. You can still bungee jump at this site and are even allowed to do it stark naked! They have no also added on New Zealand’s highest bungee jump as well as they canyon swing.
Whitewater rafting- the perfect adventure activity if jumping out of airplanes isn’t your thing. Unless you are a professional you will not do anything to crazy on a white water rafting trip. It is the perfect activity to give you some excitement and adventure but to a lesser degree than bungee jumping.
It is also a great way to see the country that you are in and experience nature in a different way. Whitewater rafting helps you develop respect for mother natures power and beauty.
If you are looking for a little excitement in South Korea then Herb Hillz is the perfect place. Herb Hillz markets itself as an eco-theme park but I would describe it more as a high ropes course. With high ropes and zip lining you can chose either option or a course that combines the two.
